1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

SchoolDistrictFinder.us does not require account creation or registration. Zip codes you enter are used solely to navigate to the relevant result page — they are not stored on our servers or linked to your identity. If you email us at contact@schooldistrictfinder.us, we collect only what you include in the email to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Information collected automatically

Third-party services may collect anonymized data including pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), browser type, device type, referral source, and time on page. Most of this is aggregate. The exception is Microsoft Clarity, which records individual sessions — mouse movement, scrolling and clicks — and can replay them. Clarity is configured with “Balanced” masking, which means text you type and images are hidden before a recording is sent to Microsoft; the page content you are reading is visible in those recordings.

2. Cookies & Third-Party Services

You can disable cookies at any time without affecting the school district lookup. To opt out of Google Analytics, use the GA Opt-out Add-on. Advertising is delivered by Mediavine’s Journey platform, which works with third-party advertising partners; those partners may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure and personalise ads.

3. Affiliate Links

Some pages contain affiliate links to real estate services (such as Zillow and Realtor.com). These are clearly labeled. Clicking and purchasing may earn us a small commission at no cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our district data, ratings, or editorial content.

4. How We Use Information

• To operate and improve the school district lookup tool
• To respond to email inquiries and data correction requests
• To analyze aggregate traffic patterns
• To display and measure advertising via Mediavine’s Journey platform
• To detect and prevent abuse (via Cloudflare)

We do not sell or rent your email address or anything you send us directly. We do share page-view, device and approximate-location signals with the advertising and analytics partners listed in Section 2, which some state laws treat as a sale or sharing of personal information.

5. Children’s Privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, email us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)

You may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Since we collect minimal data (only voluntary email contact), email contact@schooldistrictfinder.us to exercise these rights.

California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents may request access, deletion or correction, and may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Email us to exercise these rights. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comparable laws have similar rights. Our consent platform implements the IAB Global Privacy Platform, including the national and California sections used to carry opt-out preferences. To change what you allow at any time, use the Update Privacy Settings link in the footer of any page. Global Privacy Control: if your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, our consent platform receives it and treats it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising — you do not need to do anything else. EU/UK (GDPR): Visitors in countries governed by European privacy law are shown a consent prompt from our advertising partner’s consent management platform (ConsentManager, provided through Mediavine Journey) before personalised advertising cookies are set. Consent is the legal basis for those cookies. If you accept, you are shown personalised ads; if you reject, you are shown contextual ads instead, and you can change your choice at any time from the Update Privacy Settings link in the footer of any page. In addition, Google advertising and analytics storage is denied by default in the EEA and UK, and Microsoft Clarity applies its own consent mode there and sets no cookies without consent. Our legal basis for security and content delivery (Cloudflare) is legitimate interests.
